DETAILS
This famous bracelet dates from 1985 when it became one of the promotional aids at the launch of Dior's new perfume Poison. It was ingenious as not only was it a very desirable and wearable item of jewellery but it also served as a bottle that the perfume was delivered in. One of the clear lucite bottle tops unscrews and voila the perfume is discovered! There is a lingering whiff of perfume to this day when the lucite cap is screwed off.
The bracelet has a round black enamelled base around which is wrapped thin goldtone wire, and the ends of the bracelet overlap where the two caps meet. To complete the poison theme the black enamel is painted with bright green dots. This is dangerous!
Measurements
The bracelet has an interior circumference of approximately 8" (20cms), the black enamel tube is 0.5" wide and each lucite cap is 0.75" across.
The wire wrapping the enamel bracelet is tarnished in places, consistent with age. Otherwise the bracelet is in excellent condition.
From the launch of Dior's Poison in 1985.
