Astonishing and rare vintage Chanel necklace from the first collection after Victoire de Castellane joined Chanel. She is considered to be the best designer of jewellery that Chanel have ever employed (after Coco Chanel herself of course!) and this necklace definitely channels the spirit of Chanel herself with its renaissance/Byzantine influences.
It is magnificent - triple strand of etched oval link chains, with nine 'flower' charms hanging from the longest strand. Each charm has five petals - small gripoix cabs in shades of amethyst, ruby and citrine. At the centre of each is an emerald coloured stone. A true connoisseur's piece!
Total length of necklace measured by the shortest chain is 15.5" (39cms), each charm measures just over 1" across. Hammered effect hook fastening.
Signed and dated on round plaque on reverse of one of the charms. From 1984.
This unforgettable necklace is in pristine condition. Comes with Chanel box.
