DETAILS
This is a sensational necklace, Chanel at its finest. It is one of a series of necklaces produced in 1993 that feature wonderful pate de verre stones in various colours and combinations. This example, in cherry red and burnt orange, must rate as one of the best. There is a flower shape which has a rectangular stone at its centre, with 6 oval and 2 diamond shapes surrounding it. Finally a tearshaped charm hangs from the bottom of the pendant. The chain is of round links with a spring ring clasp.
The necklace is signed and dated on a plaque on the reverse of the pendant. From 93P (Spring/Summer 1993).
The necklace is in excellent vintage condition - there are slight wear marks on the goldtone on the reverse of the pendant, and the goldtone of the chain has darkened slightly. The topmost(red) stone is a replacement for the original. It is less raised than the original and is a slightly lighter shade but when worn it is hardly noticeable if at all. This defect is factored into the price but it is such a knockout that it deserves another life!
Measurements
The total length of the necklace is 28" (71cms) and the pendant measures 2.2" wide and 4.75" long (5.5 by 12cms).
