DETAILS
This is a divine, rare piece of Yves Saint Laurent jewellery from the 1980's, one of the most striking of his amazing designs. The set comprises a necklace and earrings, each composed of square glass crystals, each crystal a flattened pyramid shape coming to a central point, some clear and some in a varnished dark grey. They form the chain of the necklace and also a stunning cross shape made from 5 grey crystals and one central clear crystal. The earrings are made in a square shape from two each of the clear and grey crystals. All of the grey stones are open-backed, the clear stones are foil-backed. Setting is antiqued silvertone. Hook fastening and extension chain.
Round hangtag on necklace signed 'YSL'. Earrings unsigned. From 1980's.
Measurements
Total length of necklace is 15 1/2" (39.5cms), including 2" extension chain. Cross pendant measures 2 3/4" by 2 1/8" (7cms by 5.5cms). Earrings measure 1 3/8" across (3.5cms).
There is some very minor loss to the foil backing on some of the stones, otherwise this exquisite necklace is in excellent condition.
