DETAILS
Showstopping and rare Chanel necklace with a beautifully scalloped goldtone cross pendant embellished with demi faux baroque pearls and a sizeable red gripoix glass stone at centre. Exquisite and a rare find - such pieces are now difficult to come by.
The cross is formed from four arms, each of which resembles a petalled flower with a demi faux baroque pearl at its centre. At the centre of the cross is a large, square red gripoix stone. The cross has a slightly hammered surface with a matt finish. The chain is oval links in a snakeskin pattern with a large spring ring clasp and is attached to the cross by a braided bale. Truly a collector's piece.
Signed and dated with an oval plaque on reverse of pendant and a hangtag attached to the chain. Season 25 (1990/91).
There is a tiny piece of the central cabochon missing on one corner but this is not noticeable when worn, and only apparent on close inspection. Otherwise this stunning necklace is in excellent vintage condition.
Measurements
Total length of chain is 30"(76cms), cross measures 4.25" high incuding bale (10.5cms), and is 3.5" across. The central red stone measures 1" square.
