DETAILS
This is an unusual necklace from Chanel, using novel materials. It seems to have been inspired by Massai necklaces but given a twist by being made of totally 20th century materials. It is from the collection of the famous 1999 runway when Largerfeld sent out all his models at once wearing black and white only. Silver jewellery certainly complemented this aesthetic.
The necklace is formed from two conical bales in aluminium which hold multiple strands of silvered wire of graduated lengths which form the necklace. The strands are held together near each bale by a silvered ring. There is a hook fastening with CHANEL written on it.
Signed and dated on plaque inside one of the bales. From 99A (Autumn/Winter 1999 Collection).
This adorable and unusual necklace is in excellent condition.
Comes with its own Chanel Box.
Measurements
Length of longest strand plus fastening is 26" (66cms), and each bale is 0.65" long (1.5cms).
