Truly amazing Dior by John Galliano deep choker necklace in a style frequently used by Galliano over his years at Dior.
This one was produced for the Princess Pocahontas Collection Autumn/Winter 1998/99 and was inspired by Pocahontas as imagined by Galliano. It is made from off-white wooden beads, some long, some round, and given its shape by long silvertone findings. The wooden beads are all hand carved so there are variations in the surface markings in some places. The end findings are carved, as are the 2 extension chains. Two hooks hold the choker in place.
Total length of the choker is 15.5" (39cms) including extension chains of 3.25" each (8cms). It is 3" deep (7.5cms).
Signed Dior hangtag. From 1998/99. The picture shows a model wearring a longer version of this necklace in turquoise.
This standout choker is in excellent condition.
