This is an amazingly rare and unusual Chanel pendant necklace, from that amazing collection Autumn/Winter 1991/92, which features some of the most iconic pieces Victoire de Castellane ever produced. See the necklace in the image from the catwalk show as seen in Chanel Catwalk page 133.
The chain has a very unusual design - each interconnecting link consists of four flattened ovals. The pendant is in a shiny goldstone finish and has a shield design on one side, The centre of the design is a four-sided pyramid from which radiate eight pointed bars - four facing inwards, four facing with their point outwards. The reverse of the pendant has a large Chanel interlocking C's logo. Hook fastening. Can also be worn as a belt.
Total length of chain is 35.5", pendant measures a substantial 2'5" across.
From the famous season Lagerfeld called 'the new rapper' and which included many iconic pieces such as the quilted boxer belt - of course it was Autumn/Winter 1991/92. Signed and dated on plaque next to hook fastening.
There are some small spots on the chain where the goldtone finish is missing but this is not visible when worn. Otherwise this fabulous creation is in excellent condition.
Comes with Chanel box.
